Minerva Music Center

Minerva Music Center was established in 1988 to meet a need for musical items and a place to provide music lessons. We began in a small rental space selling some musical supplies and offering lessons in stringed instruments.

We purchased a building downtown on N. Market Street in 1998 and grew into a full-line music store. Currently, we have eight instructors who provide music lessons to more than 100 students weekly.

Our rental program covers band instruments, as well as stringed instruments, percussion, and keyboards. Minerva Music Center has full repairs for stringed and band instruments.

We are not a big box store, but more latchkey. We want our customers, from the moment they walk in the door, to feel welcomed and at home. We spend time educating our customers and will go out of our way to answer any questions they have concerning products.

Minerva Dairy

Minerva Dairy is a multi-generation, family-owned creamery with more than 125 years of rich local history. Owned and run by Venae (Mueller) Watts, Adam Mueller, and Phil Mueller, Minerva Dairy produces natural, savory cheese as an ingredient for the commercial food industry, but is much more known for what they sell in stores: creamy, flavorsome, time-tested batch-churned butter.

The Minerva Dairy story started in 1894, when Max Radloff ventured to a new town and went on a personal mission to create rich, creamy, top-of-the-line butter and cheese, sparking five generations of family that would faithfully carry on his legacy.

Today, Minerva Dairy customers can choose from a line of 85 percent butterfat butter, including rolled butter flavored with sea salt and garlic herb butter. Minerva Dairy fans stock up on small batch, slow-churned butter via the dairy’s website, select grocery stores nationwide, or at Kishman’s IGA locally. Their eye-catching packaging features stylized retro graphics that can easily be spotted on grocery store shelves.

Almost equal to the dairy family’s love of butter is a deep love of community. Last year, Adam and Venae took students on a virtual field trip via Zoom meeting, and Minerva High School students learned how to make an award-winning butter product that ships all over the United States. The family also recently dished on the keys to running a successful line of specialty foods in Authority Magazine — critical information for entrepreneurs in Ohio and far beyond.

The Minerva Dairy of 2021 is a business always looking to the future, producing natural cheese for the food industry and exploring new flavors and products while delivering the same obsession to craftsmanship that caused Food & Wine Magazine to list the dairy’s butter as an essential ingredient for avid bakers. Whether just up the street or all the way across the country, the Minerva Dairy family wants every butter fanatic to understand exactly why their third-generation matriarch, Grandma Lorraine, famously said “There’s not much in life that can’t be made better with butter.”
