DESCRIPTION:Minerva’s Municipal Park will host “Wildlife Rescue\,” a Stark Parks program\, on Thursday\, June 26\, 10:30 a.m.\, at Minerva’s Municipal Park Stage\, followed by lunch with Minerva Schools Resource Officer Tony Albertoni. \nMeet some of Stark Parks live animal ambassadors. These animals cannot be released back into the wild due to their injuries\, and we will hear each of their stories during the presentation. You will also find out what to do if you find an injured wild animal. The program is free\, interesting for all ages\, and will last approximately an hour. Please do not bring dogs to the program\, as they frighten the ambassador animals. \nFamilies are invited to bring packed lunches and stay for lunch with Officer Tony following the program. \nAttendees should bring chairs or blankets to sit on. Municipal Park is located on 2nd Street\, adjacent to Minerva High School\, 501 Almeda Ave.\, Minerva. In case of rain\, the program will be held in the Community Building. Professional wrestling will take place\, 6-8 p.m.\, on the basketball courts\, and a cornhole tournament\, run by the MHS Football Alumni\, will happen on the other side of the creek at the same time. The Roxy Theatre Duck Race happens in the creek at 7:30 p.m.\, and Paradise: The Meatloaf Tribute Band plays on the main stage 8-10:30 p.m. Raffle winners will be announced from the stage at 10 p.m. The Dunk Tank will be manned by Minerva Chamber members on Saturday\, with proceeds going toward 2nd Friday celebrations. The Beer Garden will be manned by Minerva Athletic Boosters on Saturday. Kona Ice and Travelin’ Tom’s Coffee Truck will be located near the beer garden every day\, and on Saturday Mean Bean BBQ will be serving. \n
