DESCRIPTION:The MinervaStrong 5K benefits the MinervaStrong Memorial Scholarship Fund\, which was created to remember those lost in a tragic accident. The scholarship benefits college and/or trade school-bound Minerva High School students. The run will be held Friday\, July 17\, with registration at 7 p.m.\, the free 1/4 mile kids’ run at 8 p.m.\, the one-mile walk at 8:15 p.m.\, and the 5K at 8:30 p.m.\n\nThe 5K features a fast start and finish on the Minerva High School track. The course winds through the surrounding neighborhoods and park. It’s a fast\, scenic\, and fun course that’s sure to be a hit for both beginners and advanced competitive runners. As always\, there will be lots and lots of refreshments after the event to help replace the calories you burned! \nThe event takes place at Minerva High School\, 501 Almeda Avenue\, Minerva\, Ohio 44657\, starting and ending on the track in the stadium.

DESCRIPTION:The Minerva Area Chamber of Commerce will host a stargazing night Wednesday\, Aug. 12\, at Great Trail Golf Course\, at about 9:15 p.m. We hope to see Venus and the Perseid Meteor Shower will be occurring. We can also talk about telescopes and find other features of the night sky. \nThe event is free\, for all ages\, and will take place near the #18 green\, by the clubhouse.
