DESCRIPTION:Minerva finishes off its Homecoming Celebration on Saturday\, June 15th with a whole day filled with activities. The Midway opens at 4 that day with rides provided by Kissel Amusement Company. Early bird special for wristbands are $10 from 4-6 and good all night. After 6pm\, wristbands are $18 or $2 single tickets with 10 tickets – $20 or 20 tickets – $30. The Community Building is open from 6-9. LIONBURGERS will be on sale starting at 11am on Wednesday\, located in the LIONS Pavilion. \nAt noon\, on the freshly completed pickleball courts\, the Inaugural Pickleball tournament will take place. This is a round robin tournament with categories of Men:18-54\, Men: 55 and UP\, and Women. It is a $20 registration and the deadline to register is June 12th. \nAcross the creek starting at 2 and going to 4\, Over the Rainbow will provide a kid’s activity with games and prizes. \nBarb Thomas will have an Agility Dog Contest starting at 2pm. She will demonstrate the courses her dogs can go through\, and you can bring your dog to test it out as well. \nKindred Roots will perform on the main stage from 4-6 as they bring their classic rock and blues flair to the Homecoming. \nThe Athletic Boosters are bringing back the TUG OF WAR across the creek. Plan to be there at 4pm with the event taking place at 4:15pm. Participants to be announced shortly. \nFootball Alumni Association will be holding a cornhole tournament in the beer garden from 6-8. Registration is that day and can be handled up until the tournament. It is a $15 fee for the tournament. \nFace Painting will be available Saturday in the community building from 6-9pm. \nThe Roxy Theatre will hold its Duck Race during Homecoming this year instead of the Oktoberfest as usual. The race begins at the bridge closest to the stage and ends at the opposite bridge. The ducks are dumped at 7:30. You can buy ducks all the way up until it’s time to throw. \nThe Main Event for the day is Shadow of a Doubt (Tom Petty Tribute) playing from 8-10:30 on the main stage. Raffle drawings will take place during intermission of the band. \nThe Dunk Tank also makes its return this year\, with the Minerva’s “2nd Friday” crew taking night 4. \nNew this year to Homecoming is the Minerva Beer Garden\, located across the creek near the stage. The Minerva Area Chamber of Commerce will be pouring night 3. Also located in the beer garden on Saturday is Mean Bean BBQ and 330 Popcorn Co. food trucks. Grab That Axe will also be set up in the beer garden.

SUMMARY:101st Minerva Homecoming
DESCRIPTION:Minerva will hold their annual Homecoming Celebration on Wednesday\, June 12th with the Parade kicking off the festivities at 6pm. After the parade\, join us in Municipal Park for the continued celebration. The Midway opens at 6 this night with rides provided by Kissel Amusement Company. Wristbands are $18 or $2 single tickets with 10 tickets – $20 or 20 tickets – $30. The Community Building is open from 6-9. LIONBURGERS will be on sale starting at 11am on Wednesday\, located in the LIONS Pavilion. At 6:45\, the Minerva High School Marching Band will perform a set on the basketball court for all to enjoy. The Dunk Tank also makes its return this year\, with the Minerva Football Alumni Association taking night 1. \nNew this year to Homecoming is the Minerva Beer Garden\, located across the creek near the stage. Village representatives will be pouring the inaugural event. Also located in the beer garden on Wednesday is Triple -T’s and 330 Popcorn Co. food trucks. Grab That Axe will also be set up in the beer garden. From 8-10pm on the main stage\, T-Free and the Panic Attacks will be performing. \n

DESCRIPTION:Minerva-area Memorial Day observances are:\n*Liberty Church Cemetery – Sunday\, May 26\, 1:30 p.m.\nThe program will include speaker Minerva Mayor Tim Tarbet. Daniel Herstine\, a student from Minerva Middle School\, will give the Gettysburg Address\, and the Minerva Middle School Band will perform a patriotic musical selection. VFW Post 4120 – Minerva\, OH will provide the three-volley salute and “Taps.” Pastor Clint Frazier of Dominion Reformed Fellowship in Robertsville will offer the invocation and benediction.\n\n\n*Valley Street Cemetery – Monday\, May 27\, 10 a.m.\nA brief ceremony will be held by VFW Post 4120 at the Valley Street Cemetery with the three-volley salute and “Taps.” Participants will then parade to East Lawn Cemetery.\n\n\n*East Lawn Cemetery – Monday\, May 27\, 10:30 a.m.\nThe program will include speaker Christopher Kinsey. Minerva Middle School students Emery Sell and Everett Pancoast will give the Gettysburg Address and the Minerva High School Concert Band will perform patriotic musical selections. Pastor Phil Rittenhouse will offer the invocation and benediction. VFW Post 4120 will provide the three-volley salute\, “Taps\,” and the laying of the wreath.\n\n\n*Moultrie Cemetery – Monday\, May 27\, 2 p.m.\nThe march to decorate the graves will begin at 2 p.m.\, after the salute from VFW Post 4120. Harmony Geiselman\, fifth grader from Minerva Elementary School\, will recite the Gettysburg Address. Patriotic music and taps will be provided by the Minerva Community Band. The program inside the chapel will include speaker Bill Pilati\, WWII veteran from Minerva. Attending veterans will be recognized. Special music will be provided by Isabella Gambone. Joseph Ellis will lead the congregation in group singing. Ice cream will be served after the program.

DESCRIPTION:The community is invited to the Minerva Area Chamber of Commerce’s 41st annual dinner and Community Salute Awards\, Wednesday\, May 8\, at the Minerva Community Building.\n\n\nThe event will feature a presentation by Ohio Department of Development Director Lydia Mihalik\, “Empowering Communities to Succeed.”\n\n\nThe ODOD is a state agency committed to empowering communities to succeed by investing in the people\, places\, and businesses of Ohio\, and Mihalik was appointed director by Governor Mike DeWine in 2019. Prior to that she served as the 55th mayor of Findlay\, Ohio.
