The fifth annual The Cars are the Stars fine automobile exhibition, Racing Thru History ¼ Mile at a Time, starring 65 hand-picked, by-invitation-only premiere vehicles and benefiting Minerva’s Roxy Theatre, is Saturday, Sept. 13.

The show will be held on Minerva’s historic North Market Street, noon-5 p.m., featuring a hand-selected assembly of rare and historically significant vehicles from the drag-racing community. On display will be dragsters, funny cars, altereds, gas supers, and superstocks from the 50s, 60s, and 70s.

There will also be up to 150 collector cars in Collector Car Corrals in areas surrounding the brick street, and kids’ hot wheel racing and drag racing themed movies at the Roxy Theatre will play during the event.

Live music will be provided by Luke Schreffler, noon-2 p.m., and T. Free & the Panic Attacks, 2-5 p.m. Great food will be available from Here to Serve Bar-B-Que, Dudley G’s Pizza World, and Minerva’s downtown restaurants, and Family Favorites baked goods will be offered by donation.

Minerva’s Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area will be in effect 11 a.m.-10 p.m., the day of the exhibition, so patrons can purchase beverages from The Normandy Inn, Stoney Inn, Que Pasa Mexican Restaurant, and Sandy Springs Brewing Co. and carry them throughout the DORA.

Tickets to the exhibition are $10 per person or $20 per family (up to five people from the same household) and are available for purchase at the gate or on Minervacarsarestars.com.

This year the event is in conjunction with the La Macchina Molta Bella Auto Show, featuring exotic sports cars, rare classics, vintage Ferraris, and custom cars, the following day, Sunday, Sept. 14, at Hale Farms, Bath, Ohio.

All proceeds from this event will support improvements at the Roxy Theatre, which is owned by the Minerva Area Chamber of Commerce.
